Round two of the Really Really Free Farmers Market will take place Wednesday, Oct. 10 from 9:45 a.m. until the food is gone. Produce will be made available to students, staff and faculty in front of the K-1 Student Services Building. Students are encouraged to bring their student ID and their own bags.
For those with food insecurities, the Miramar College Emergency Food Pantry is stocked and open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Food Pantry is located near the campus pool in J-302. The Pantry supplies food, toiletries, school supplies, clothing and pet food to help students succeed.
The College is hosting a fall food drive through Oct. 12 to continue to stock the Miramar Emergency Food Pantry. Donation drop off locations include: J-302 (M-F from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m./only drop off point for perishable items); Professor Laura Pecenco's H-1110Q office; or Professor Laura Gonzalez's H-110D office.
Here's what is needed: ready to eat snacks such as protein bars, pop tarts, fruit snacks, crackers and trail mix; drinks (juices and teas), toiletries; school supplies; pet food; and reusable bags.
