The San Diego Miramar College Foundation received a $2,500.00 sponsorship donation from Union Bank to help support its annual Invest in Success fundraising event to be held May 5, 2018 in Rancho Santa Fe. The annual Invest in Success Fundraiser is the Miramar College Foundation’s main vehicle for raising funds for its Freshman Scholarship program.
“Again this year, Union Bank has been gracious enough to serve as a sponsor of our successful Invest in Success fundraiser and we can’t thank them enough,” said Dr. Patricia Hsieh, president of San Diego Miramar College. “Union Bank’s sponsorship of this event will help us to meet our goal of raising $45,000.00, which will move us closer to endowing the Miramar College Foundation’s annual Freshman Scholarship program.”
Each year, the Miramar College Freshman Scholarship program provides a $300.00 scholarship to 15 incoming freshman, three from each of the College’s service area high schools of Mira Mesa, Serra, Scripps Ranch, University City and Twain Mesa School. These scholarships are awarded each April at the College’s Scholarship Awards Ceremony held on campus.
The Foundation has an ambitious overall goal of raising $375,000.00 to endow the annual freshman scholarships.
The Miramar College Foundation, a California nonprofit public benefit corporation, was officially created on August 21, 1994 and is committed to supporting the diverse population of Miramar College students by raising scholarship funds.
