During the 24-25 academic year, all financial aid, after fees are paid, will be disbursed by paper check to the mailing address you have on file or by Direct Deposit [click here to Sign Up for Direct Deposit]. It is important that you verify your mailing address in MySDCCD or sign up for Direct Deposit no later than 3 weeks prior to any posted date shown below. For the first grant dates shown, please verify or update your mailing address or Direct Deposit by August 18, 2024 by 5:00pm first Fall 2024 semester disbursement. If your mailing address or Direct Deposit information is correct, no further action is required. As files are packaged, new awards are disbursed on a weekly basis. The last disbursement for Fall will be on 12/06/2024 and the processes will resume on 01/07/2025.
Financial Aid checks will be mailed to your home address and cannot be forwarded by the Post Office. If you have a change of address, please notify the Admissions Office immediately. Also, address changes can be made online on mySDCCD.
Attention Students: If you are only enrolled in late-starting short-term classes, please not that financial aid disbursements will not be received until those classes have begun.
In addition, to be eligible for direct loans, students must be enrolled at least half-time, which typically means taking 6-8.9 units. If a student is only attending 3 units while the rest of their classes start in the semester, this will not be considered active enrollment. As a result, the loans(s) will be disbursed after the classes begin to ensure half-time active enrollment.
Freeze Date!
Your Federal Pell Grant & Cal Grant payments are based on your class enrollment schedule as of the “FREEZE” date, or your awarded date if the freeze date has passed. Your payment will not be adjusted if your class schedule increases after your freeze date or awarded date.
Priority Awarding Process
Federal Supplement Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) and Federal Work-Study (FWS) funds are limited each year. Priority consideration is given to students who are academically in “Good Standing” and meet the priority deadline of April 15, 2024. The awarding criteria for these limited programs are based on the following order:
- FAFSA application date
- File completion date
- Greatest financial need
One Semester Award Only
If your award letter shows, with the exception of the California College Promise Grant (formerly known as BOGW), that you have been offered assistance for the Fall semester only, it is because:
- You have indicated to us that Fall will be the only semester you will attend Miramar College, or
- You filed an Appeal Form to reinstate your financial aid with results indicating that the Fall semester was the final semester we could assist you.
