Activity: Undocu-mentaries We Love: Underwater Dreams (2014) with FREE popcorn!
In partnership with the Student Affairs Office and STEM Éxito Project at Miramar College, the Dreamers Support Office is hosting a film screening of Underwater Dreams (2014) to learn about the inspiring story of four undocumented Mexican-American high school students who enter an underwater robotics competition at the collegiate level. FREE popcorn and refreshments provided! A brief presentation about STEM opportunities for undocumented students to follow.
About Undocu-Circles
Undocu-Circles are affirming spaces for Dreamers and undocumented students to create community with one another. Facilitated by our Dream Team staff, we welcome our diverse students to come share their unique immigrant stories.
Each Undocu-Circle is different. Sometimes, we start with a fun icebreaker then discuss the rewards and challenges of being an immigrant; other times, students participate in a collaborative activity, play a game, or just watch a movie. No matter what, the goal is to build community!
