Experience the Mexican-American War through the historical research and romantic prose of Reyna Grande in A Ballad of Love and Glory, immerse yourself in the eery, fantastic atmosphere of Silvia Moreno-García’s The Daughter of Doctor Moreau, understand the dangerous consequences of gentrification in Olga Dies Dreaming by Xóchitl González and Neruda on the Park by Cleyvis Natera, and explore the beautiful yet dangerous landscape of the Mexican/US borderlands through the eyes of a fawn in the metaphorical illustrated children’s book Bright Star by Yuyi Morales.
