Meet Professor Andrew Huang, your Online Accessibility Mentor

Dear Miramar family, I’m Andrew Huang (he/him/his) and I am excited to be your Online Accessibility Mentor for the 2023-2024 school year! I teach Computer and Information Science classes at Miramar and am also the faculty advisor for the student club, San Diego Computer Science. I’ve been working in the software industry for 24 years, with the past 15 in artificial intelligence. I have a love and hate relationship with technology. I hate when it gets in the way of learning, but I love when it makes learning easier. After being forced to teach fully online after COVID, I’ve wrestled with technology, learned, adapted, and continue to adapt my courses to support the diverse needs of our esteemed students.

I would love to assist in making your online courses accessible. I’m adjunct and have no affiliations to course assessments or professional development reviews, so rest assured that there will be zero risk to reach out. My sole concern is our students, and want our technology to remove barriers to learning. For judgment free assistance, please reach out at ahuang@sdccd.edu or schedule a Zoom office hour appointment on Mondays 8:30am-9:30am and Thursdays 8pm-9pm using this link:

I will be hosting online course accessibility FLEX workshops during FLEX weeks and before FLEX deadlines. Stay tuned via email for more information.
